After Istanbul we set off on the 700km drive to the Cappadocia region of Turkey – we were heading for a small town there called Goreme but first had to survive the manic Turkish roads and meet our new driver! Never known driving like it, but am told that this is nothing compared to India!

Crossing over to Bulgaria from Serbia was great scenery-wise as we drove through the Balkan Mountain range. The road winded right through them, passing rocky cliffs, rolling hills and tiny villages so we just had to stop the bus in order for us to get out and take some photos… We were heading towards Sofia
