Thailand

The Stunning Gulf of Thailand Long before Leonardo DiCaprio and ‘The Beach’ put it on the map, Thailand has been a firm favourite with travellers from all over the world. As one of the only countries in the world to have never been colonized, Thailand and its unique culture has continued to grow and flourish without dilution. Thai dance, music and art play a huge part in Thailand’s appeal – that and some of the most breathtaking beaches on earth.

Its beaches are world famous and once you’ve paid them a visit you’ll soon see why. Crystal clear seas, stunning sandy shores and lush greenery at beaches such as Phuket, Krabi, Hat Chaweng and Hat Lamai lure tourists in their droves. Whether you just want to chill out on a hammock sipping cocktails, surf, jet ski, kiteboard or dive, you can do all of these on one of Thailand’s beaches.

The clear waters give rise to some of the best diving experiences in south East Asia. Underwater mountains, coral reefs, fascinating rock formations and a vast variety of tropical marine life such as whale sharks and manta rays, will impress any seasoned diver. Thailand’s spirit of adventure rubs off on everybody who visits – it’s no wonder when you stop and think about just how much fun can be had! Trekking is also a popular pastime in Thailand particularly in Chiang Mai, Chiang Do and the Angkhang nature reserve.

Bangkok at night, Thailand

Bangkok

Thailand’s sprawling metropolis, Bangkok, is often referred to as sin city! It may be hot, crowded and noisy but it’s still not to be missed. Over the last few decades it has developed into a modern and exciting city, mixing together the ancient delights of the old with the cosmopolitan ‘new’. It is home to over 400 beautiful Buddhist temples, palaces and canals as well as a treasure trove of other cultural attractions to explore.

Whilst in Bangkok you can venture out and visit the Khao Yai national park and the famous floating markets where the locals still conduct their daily business afloat.

Popular island of Koh Samui

Leaving the capital and heading further south, you will start to discover the thousands of paradise islands that Thailand is famous for. Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao are perfect examples of why people flock to this part of the world. Palm fringed beaches and mirror clear lagoons provide the ideal backdrop to any holiday or expedition, and you are sure to take in more than one full moon party on their shores!

Thai Food

Almost as appealing as Thailand’s landscape, friendly people and intriguing culture, is its food. Thai food has grown hugely in popularity and can now be found in many high streets and supermarkets up and down the UK, but the best Thai food can only really be found in Thailand! From ‘budget’ street stalls to swish city restaurants, food in Thailand sizzles with flavor in its delicate stir fries, tangy curries and fresh, zesty fishcakes.

While many tourists are worried about the type of food, people and bizarre customs they will encounter the first time they visit a distant country; the only thing you will have to worry about when in Thailand is how you can possibly take it all in!
